Will Bullas

                                                                                                   Back

This Ohio-born artist has been paining professionally for close to 30 years. He has garnered some of the most prestigious awards for his work from such notable organizations as the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society and the Knickerbocker Artists of New York.

Will studied his craft at Arizona State University and later at the Brooks Institute of Fine Art in Santa Barbara, California. Will was drafted into the U.S. Army in the middle of his education and served in Vietnam. His first commissioned pieces were pencil portraits of fellow soldiers, which were sent to loved ones back home.

After school and the military service Will and his wife, Claudia and son Mike, moved to Carmel, California where he struck out on his own as an artist and supported his family as a printer.

He started doing “road shows” in parks and malls and parking lots across the western states. Packing up his VW with homemade stands and his paintings and traveling to destinations from Lake Havasu to Lake Tahoe to show his work and hopefully make enough cash to fill the gas tank and get home. Very soon he had a growing following of collectors and needed a permanent gallery.

Will Bullas has been showing his original paintings at New Masters Gallery in Carmel, California for 20-plus years.

Will and his wife have recently moved to San Francisco. Their son Mike lives in Southern California and is also a painter.
